As a Volunteer Firefighter, you will play a critical role in protecting life and property while supporting a tradition of excellence that dates back to 1945.
Volunteer firefighters respond to a wide range of emergencies, including fires, rescues, medical incidents, hazardous materials situations, and public service calls. Members operate within established department policies and work under the supervision of trained officers as part of a highly skilled and coordinated team.

Members may perform physically demanding tasks such as advancing hose lines, operating pumps, raising ladders, conducting search and rescue, and providing emergency medical care.
Training Commitment
To ensure operational readiness and safety, members are required to:
- Attend weekly training sessions (Monday evenings)
- Participate in a monthly business meeting (third Monday)
- Complete Firefighter I certification (approximately 175 hours) within the first year

Candidates must also demonstrate strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to learn and apply technical firefighting knowledge.
Work Environment and Expectations
Volunteer Firefighters operate in challenging and often hazardous conditions, including exposure to fire, smoke, extreme temperatures, and emotionally stressful situations. Duties may require strenuous physical exertion, working at heights, and responding to emergencies at any time.
Professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to teamwork are essential at all times.
